Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) have joined the efforts of Indian Army for enrolling youth of Arunachal Pradesh in Defense Services. Sadbhavna, a unique program aimed to motivate, train and prepare youth of Arunachal Pradesh was envisaged by Indian Army Think Tank and was executed by Chowkham Army Battalion under the aegis of Lohit Brigade.
The need was felt, when it was observed that due to varied reasons, many students are not enrolling themselves for Higher Studies. As the State does not offers multiple employment opportunities, sometimes the younger generation gets attracted towards drug usage. Recent years have witnessed increased usage of drugs by young generation. Initially, these youth try these habit forming drugs to get a kick, however these drugs form habit and a youth who could have contributed towards growth of his family, Society, State and Country becomes a liability to his family.
Officers and Staff of Chowkham Battalion from Indian Army has trained hundreds of these students at Namsai, Tezu and Choukham in last few months, resulting in clearing of Physical Test by 166 Youths in recently conducted Army Recruitment rally at Jairampur, Arunachal Pradesh.
The second phase of their selection process constitutes written Test. AUS has joined the efforts of Chowkham Battalion from Indian Army, where classes are conducted at their Namsai Campus and students are being taught basic mathematics, English, history, geography and general knowledge. In their joint statement theyThe AUS management have pledged to contribute all intellectual ideas which may help in bringing awareness and upliftment of all people of North-east irrespective of their caste, creed or religion.
This initiative by Chowkham Battalion will go a long way in bringing normalcy, peace and prosperity in the Region.
